Euthanasia Services for Pets

Providing compassionate care during a difficult time.

As animal lovers, we sympathize with pet owners when it's time to say goodbye to their pets. You cherish and love your pet which is why it's difficult to consider euthanasia. Many factors go into deciding to euthanize a pet, and it is a personal issue that differs from pet owner to pet owner. But every pet owner is inevitably faced with making that decision, and we want to be there alongside you to aid in any way we can.

Is euthanasia the best decision for my pet?

Euthanasia is only recommended when all other treatment options are no longer effective. Your veterinarian can evaluate your pet's condition and indicate when their quality of life is poor. Our hospital provides hospice care that can comfort your pet as they approach the end of their life. Palliative treatment won't cure your pet's illness, but it gives you more time to make your decision. As a pet owner, you can also spot the signs that your pet is at the end of their life. You'll notice they would rather spend more time alone, eat less, they aren't as loving, are always uncomfortable, no longer drinking water, and losing their desire to move or not enjoying the things they once loved.

What happens during the procedure?

Euthanasia can be performed within a few minutes. Before the procedure, we allow our clients to spend additional time with their pet. You also have the choice to be present in the examination room. The veterinarian may give your pet a sedative then the euthanasia solution will be administered by intravenous injection. Your pet's organs will immediately cease to function, allowing your pet to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully.

How can I prepare for the procedure?

When your pet is scheduled for the procedure, your time with them is limited. Many pet owners use this time to make more memories with their pet and allow other family members to say their final goodbyes. It's also a good time to decide how you want to handle your pet's remains and think of ways to memorialize them. Our team is always available to assist you in making this process easier.
